Juvenile Justice

Involvement  in the juvenile justice system as a victim or a perpetrator of a crime represents a barrier to a child’s positive development.  Children who are victims of crime often suffer a range of emotional problems depending on the severity of the crime and may require counseling or other services to help them avoid negative outcomes.  Children who commit crimes often do so at the expense of school work and neglect other positive developmental activities.
