Absences

Youth who are absent from school are detached from necessary activities that encourage necessary growth in children and teenagers, helping ensure a successful transition to adulthood. If children are absent from school for an extended period of time, this puts youth at increased risk of having lower earnings and a less stable employment history than their peers who stayed in school, secured jobs, or both.
