There are more people per square mile in Pinellas County than any other
county in Florida. In 2000, the last year a full population census
was undertaken, the population density of Pinellas County was 3,292
persons per square mile, 1.4 times the second highest county in
Florida, Broward County. Of more than 3,100 counties in the United
States (excluding Puerto Rico), Pinellas had the 32nd
highest population density, placing Pinellas in the top 1% of all
U.S. counties.Understanding the diverse
