Immunizations - Seventh Grade Students
-
Each October, all public and private schools with
a seventh grade are required to submit reports indicating the
immunization status of their seventh grade students as required by
section 1003.22, Florida Statutes, which provides for the
requirement of proper documentation prior to entry into seventh
grade.
- Certificate of immunization (HRS 680-A-2) is issued when a
booster dose of tetanus-diphtheria, a second dose of measles
(preferably MMR) and three doses of hepatitis B are
administered.
The immunization rate for Pinellas County’s
seventh grade students improved dramatically between 2002-03 and
2005-06 before leveling off.
- For the past six years, Pinellas has consistently exceeded
the state average.
- Compared to other
similarly sized counties, Pinellas’ 2008-09 seventh grade
immunization rate was second highest after Hillsborough County
