Child
Health and Safety
Child Health & Safety is concerned with the physical environment in
which children live and play, and the role that environment plays in
their health, development, and safety. A widely accepted
definition of the term “health” is that of the World Health
Organization (WHO), which states that “health is a state of complete
physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of
disease or infirmity.” Recently, this statement has been
modified to include the ability to lead a “socially and economically
productive life.”
